My problem is similar with all the "open / save as crashes" ones, which can be found by google http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=snow+leopard+crash . For those who can't imaging it, let's say if you do an operation like "open" or "save as", which calls the system "browse for file" window, there is a chance that the current app crashes. This happens to all the apps, from Apple's Preview to Adobe's Photoshop. Half a year passed. Some lucky guys resolved it, and some still don't, like me. I even brought a new HDD and did a fresh install and it's been OK for 2 or 3 days, but BOOM! It occurs again and I don't even know WHY. Oh yea, it must be a software issue. But I've never met such a creepy one, even in the Win95 days. How creepy? 1. Very serious. 2. Cannot be reproduced. 3. Not even a work-around solution.
For some reason I have to use Snow Leopard, and without the problem it could be a great OS. But like this... I don't know what I have to say. And the "I have to use" part is the most frustrating stuff in my life. Probably you may think that I'm making no point here. Well I'm not. The only thing I can say is that:
Snow Leopard SUCKS.
At least until 10.6.3.
PS: here are some links about this topic,
2 proposed solutions (neither works for me): http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/backstage/comments/two-proposed-solutions-to-snow-leopard-crash-problems-on-macs/ (maybe from http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2168885&start=75&tstart=60)
And I'm using MacBook Pro. DVD broke TWICE in half a year. How lucky I am.
